PDD 60: Abandonment of "Launch on Warning"

In 1997, President Bill Clinton issued Presidential decision directive (PDD) 60.  This directive radically changed US stratigic nuclear policy from "launch on warning" to "retaliate after absorbing a first strike".  President Clinton's justification for this change was based on the false premise that in the so-called "Post-Cold War Era", Russia and China are no longer nuclear threats. 

Robert Bell, senior director for defense policy and arms control at the National Security Council, verified information about PDD 60 in an interview on December 23, 1997.  Bell pointed out that while the United States has always had the "technical capability" to implement a policy of launch on warning, it has chosen not to do so. "Our policy is to confirm that we are under nuclear attack with actual detonations before retaliating".

Hello? Are you serious? The whole strategy that makes nuclear weapons a deterrent is that under a "launch on warning" policy, whichever nation launches first looses and whichever nation launches second wins.  If you take US nuclear missiles off "launch on warning" and switch to a policy of "retaliation after absorbing a nuclear first-strike", there won't be anything left over to retaliate with.  You loose.  Especially since 1. most all US nukes are sitting in vulnerable fixed silos, and 2. the US has been unilaterally downsizing our nuclear arsenal.

"Launch on Warning" means the US would launch its nuclear missiles after it has been varified that a country like Russia and China have premptively launched on the US but before enemy warheads have arrived. Under "Launch on Warning" the US would retaliate while the enemy ICBMs are still in the air, and before they have detonated in the US.

The reason  "Launch on Warning" assures that whomever launches first looses and whomever launches second wins is that a country would likely only launch 50% of its nukes during a first-strike.  Most of the incoming nukes will be targeting our nukes here in the US to prevent a retaliatory counter-attack. However, how "Launch on Warning" works is the launch-second country can simply track the incoming ICBMs and predict which silos are being targeted.  The US would then launch the nukes only in those targeted silos.  The "launch on warning" ICBMs would then target the remaining unlaunched ICBMs back in the attacking nation.  When Russia's ICBMs arrive, those nukes strike empty silos.  When the US nukes arrive on the other end, they target and destroy remaining ICBMs in Russia. 

If the US only uses 50% of its nukes to target the remaining Russian nukes, then the US is left with 50% remaining ICBMs and Russia is left with 0% ICBMs.  This is how the "Launch on Warning" strategy assures that whomever initiates a nuclear firstrike looses and why the "Launch on Warning" policy is the only real and effective nuclear deterrence policy.  

The new and current nuclear policy to "Retaliate after Absorbing a First-strike" is an unwinnable policy that does more to invite attack than deter it.

Unfortunately the only thing the public thinks it knows about nuclear stragedy is from the movie "War Games" which equates Global Thermonuclear War with a game of tick-tack-toe.

Drudge Report: Hoover, JFK, Baker

How the media work? think of each news story as a point on a page.  The mainstream media then connects the dots and creates a picture for us by highlighting certain points and disgarding others.  Alternative media sites are able to ofttimes draw a completely different picture by highlighting or including more or different dots.

Drudgereport.com is one of the most popular alernative media websites in America and has been getting a lot of attention by the mainstream media and politicians.  The fascinating thing about Matt Drudge's site is that it is just a news headline aggregator.  There is no original content. 

The Drudge website searches other mainstream and alternative media sites and highlights certain stories that may not get highlighted by by the media sources themselves.   And that right there is the genius of the site.  

In reality, the mainstream media comes out with very honest and revealing news reports all the time.  However, how the media game works is many of these stories get buried and are overlooked.  Drudge paints a very different picture of "the way things are" just by highlighting these different headlines.

However, at this stage of the game, I think disclosure is part of the master plan.  At this point, all these revelations about corruption and the abuse of power are more about causing division and getting American's to loose faith.  

I was watching several documentaries about J Edgar Hoover.  There was that movie recently.  And basically these documentary were saying the head of the FBI was gay and the media covered for him and Hoover covered for the mafia and who knows who else because these organized crime groups blackmailed Hoover.  

I'm not sure people realize the depth of what was going on in the FBI. For several decades Hoover denied the existence of the mafia.  The mob in Hoover's opinion was a fairytail and anyone who brought it up was ignored or labeled like a nutcase. That was until the chance discovery of a mafia summit in Apalachin, NY Nov 14, 1957.  

But even after the media and Hoover were forced to recognize the mafia, little was done about it until after JFK was assassinated in 1963 and Robert Kennedy began a crusade against the mafia as Attorney General  and then State Senator until his own assassination in 1968.

Now we have the revelations by Bobby Baker who was a close political advisor to LBJ. Robert Gene Baker from SC ran the Quorum Club and was investigated in 1963 for bribery and corruption.  This investigation was dropped by Robert Kennedy with the help of Hoover and dirt they had on JFK. The tangled web of corruption and blackmail boggles the mind.  And the free press covering for everyone.

I mean I've been working in Aiken SC, which was home to Strom Thurmond.  If you want to here some salacious rumors, just talk to the old-timers around Edgefield County, SC.  But how come everyone knows all this behavior is going on and these details about who our politicians really are are hidden in plain sight from us?  

Drudge report demonstrates that the truth was always there, but special interest control the media has led to the steady erosion of morality and liberty in America beginning with our leaders. A carefully controlled chief editor can with a few edits change the whole impact of a story or bury another story in the back of the paper. 

However, alternative media aggregation sites like Drudgereport.com are serving to bring some of these stories to the forefront countering the steady drumbeat narrative of the mainstream media.  However, I fear it may be too late and these revelations 50 years after the fact are just serving to cause American's to loose faith in the American system.

CORRUPTION TODAY

Why is what happened 50 years important today? These examples of corruption and scandal are important because these kind of things are still happening.  Chief Justice Roberts was supposed to be a conservative justice, but when it came to ruling on the Obamacare mandate, Roberts suddenly flips sides and then tells us "the Supreme Court should seek to find any reason to judge legislation constitutional."

What we all suspect is that Justice Roberts got a call and got blackmailed and coerced into switching his vote. Bill Mayer isn't the only one who thinks Roberts is gay. In this day and age, who should care, but the unfortunate thing is if you are ashamed enough to be blackmailed over it is the real tragedy.

The consequence of the decision on the individual mandate is now there is SCOTUS precident that the US government can now legislate what is good for you.  And if you dont agree they can fine you, jail you, and take your children away from you.

The Obamacare individual mandate is nothing like states requiring liability car insurance.1. The car insurance requirement is to protect the potential victim. 2. a person can avoid the requirement by choosing not to drive 3. car insurance laws are state laws and not federal laws.

THE SOLUTION

The problem with corrupt politicians and media are the same problems. The world has a concentrated economic elite minority. There are  60 Bank of International settlement- controlled banks.  This means that when the FED issues a bond, the US special interests issue us our own currency with interest. 

Now thay the bankers have all the money, thess special interests can buy up and control the media as well as politicians. 

The only hope is to create a more equitable monetary system based on real assets and full reserve banking.  Older posts illustrate this system called the "The Safety Society System". Our problem is that America instituted European banking.  The Safety Society System actually better follows the Constitution where the Congress via the Treasury creates 100% currency and not the banks via the money multiplier which is the sourse of their power.

Claire's Invention: trash bag rain pants

My daughter Claire has been demonstrating innovative thinking.  Here is her latest invention: Trash bag poncho rain-proof suspender pants.  Every good boy scout knows how to make a poncho out of a trash bag.  However, I liked this idea for pants.

China and US Drilling in Hawaii

I am heartened that just after China reported that its new balliatic missiles can now target US cites in the northeast and west coast that China and the US are strengthening relations by participating in joint humanitarian military exercizes in Hawaii today.  I also hope these efforts can then be focused on the Phillipines who are suffering after the terrible Super Typhoon.

China has reportedly purchased 300 tons of gold this year.  Economics claim that China has a goal of 10,000 tons in order to launch a gold-backed Yuan to rival the USD.  However, the Yuan is already a respectable rival among the BRICS nations. These countries swap currencies and then settle end-of-year deficits and surpluses with gold.

I think if China really wanted to replace and not just rival the USD with a gold-backed Yuan, they would need the 170,000 tons of gold Karen Hudes says is in the Bank of Hawaii. 

Thinking about the numbers optimistically; if China had say 200,000 tons of gold, that could equal approaching 10 Trillion dollars. Using standard fractional reserve principles, that 10 Trillion could be leveraged to 100 Trillion and then be able to do the kind of work needed to run the global economy.

To give you some perspective on the global economy.  World GDP is about 50 Trillion USD and the world derivatives market is about 20 x GDP = 1.2 quadrillion. The immense size of these numbers is why I question economic reports about China and such relatively small amounts if gold.  These small amounts would serve to keep the current BRICS dollar exclusion zone going. 

Gold Rumors

There has been a string of rumors about gold that rise up from time to time in the media. I have no idea of their truth except, I expect that there is much more gold than the myth that 'all the gold ever mined in the history of the Earth could fit in one olympic-sized pool.'

So, the rumor begins with the "protocols of Zion" saying the illuminati have taken gold out of circulation in the economy.  The consequence of this is that in a world with gold-backed currency, this put a cramp on world economies. 

Anyways. When Commodore Matthew C Perry went to Japan with his backwards US flag and forceably opened up Japan to trade with the West, the corruption of Japanese youth led to the Meiji Revolution and overthrow of the Shogunate. Japan was then used by the British to attack China.  Why?  The Western bankers were looking for Roman Gold.  Rome had been sending gold East for hundreds of years in exchange for spices and drugs. The Bankers wanted that gold back.

Then sometime during WW2, Chinese gold was transferred to the Philippines for safe keeping.  The Philippines have been controlled by the US since the Spanish-American war in 1898. Then following WW2, gold was transferred to the US following the Bretton-Woods agreement establishing the US Dollar as the world reserve currency.  China trusted the US promise that the US would help China and the 3rd World develop. 

Instead what happened is the IMF and World Bank gave out loans to private corporations to exploit and mine 3rd-world resources.  Private multinational corporations enslaved third-world populations to mine their resources polluted those countries and left the people with impossible debt.  

When the World Bank forgave these 3rd-world countries debt, they only did so in exchange for perminent control over the countries mineral resources.  Juat recently, Greece had to put up its Islands as collateral for its most recent bailout.  What did you get in your Christmas stocking this year? If it wasn't a Greek Island then your not part of the "in crowd".

David Wilcox, Ben Fulford and now Karen Hudes is the rumor spreaders.  Karen Hudes claims to have been a lawyer for the IMF turned whistleblower who is on a crusade to prosecute the world bankers, and the 60 Bank of International Settlement banks for corruption.  

None of these rumor spreaders are reliable.  Hudes has been showing up on RT talking about the corruption of private central banks but giving no specifics other than saying countries should be paying private central banks interest to print our own money.  This I agree with. However, Hudes has been pointing people to the Bank of North Dakota as a solution. I do agree when she says that money can be backed by not just gold.

I do not think the Bank of North Dakota is the answer.  All Money creation needs to done by US Treasury but loan approval needs to be local and private and non-profit.  The North Dakota system doesn't do enough to solve the problem of fractional reserve banking and lending that leads to banking failures.

Anyways, Wilcox and Fulford had been saying that when China gave the US gold it was given US Treasury Certificates.  Some of these certifucates for billions of dollars have surfaced on several occasions.  Each time these certifucates surface they are called fraudulent.  But who in their right mind would try to pass off million-dollar US Treasury Certificates except the US itself?  If I was a counterfeiter, it wouldn't be the first thing I'd think to do.

Anyways, Wilcox and Fulford had been saying that China wants its gold back frim the US and they aren't happy about not getting it and not being able to cash in their Treasuries.  Germany holds much of its gold in the US as well and was told it couldn't have its gold back either and that is no rumor.

Well the newest gold rumor is that Karen Hudes said on RT that the Bank of Hawaii had 170,000 tons of gold in deposit. 170,000 tons is 6 billion ounces worth 8 trillion dollars.  170,000 tons of gold is more gold than anyone was led to believe existed on the Earth and more than all the gold reserves of all the nations on Earth.  

So, why is all that gold in Hawaii? Hawaii is not an easily defended location to keep gold.

Mathematics of Music

My daughter Faith asked me to tune her guitar. While looking up the correct reference tone, I realized that the customary tuning of "Concert A" at 440 Hz, was different than the tuning of medical tuning forks based on octaves of C at 128 Hz, 256 Hz, 512 Hz, 1024 Hz, and 2048 Hz.  

In the West, we divide up octaves into 12 proportional semitones. The way the chromatic scale is divided is called "Temperament." There are many temperaments which have been put forth over the years, such as Pythagorean, Werckmeister, Just, Mean, Well (Bach,  "The Well-Tempered Clavier") and Even.

For the modern equal temperament scale, the frequency of each note in the chromatic scale is related to the frequency of the notes next to it by a factor of the twelfth root of 2.

F(n) = EXP ( LN (2) * n / 12 )

F(n) = e ^ ( LN  (2) * n / 12 )

F(n) = e ^ ( 0.057762265... * n )

F(n) = 2 ^ ( n / 12 ) * 256 Hz

n = steps or semitones away from the fundamental frequency beginning at n = 0.

Why do physicians use tuning forks? We use them to test hearing and vibration sense. A physician may rest the base of a ringing tuning fork on the patient's forehead, behind the ear or next to the ear to test hearing.  He may also place the base of a ringing tuning fork on a toe to test vibration sense. 

Why are medical and scientific tuning based on C4 = 256 Hz?  Scientific tuning is based on octaves of C beginning at 1 Hz and then doubling to 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048 Hz.

So, why is nearly all modern music tuned to the A4 = 440 Hz standard? An international body got together and made an arbitrary decision. Why focus on A4 and not C4?  I suppose it is because most string instruments have an A string.  Historically, early Western musicians tuned to the fundamental pitch of the organ where they were performing. Ultimately, the organ tuning determined the tuning of the orchestra. 

That said, A4 = 440 Hz is a bit sharp for my taste.  Many musicians and composers still experiment with alternative tunings and temperaments.  A4 = 432 Hz is a popular alternative tuning.  And according to Even temperament based on C4 = 256 Hz, A4 would work out to be 430.5 Hz.
